I swapped them out with DiMarzio Super Distortion36th Anniversary PAF which sounds better. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. Is the CHarvel on par in term of built quality to Fender i really like the look of the CHarvel and it has already a set of of quality SD high output humbuckers so i wouldnt have to swap.
Would really like review of the Charvel PRO MOD or EVH Striped series. The EVH skews much more old school, with a single hot pickup and a top-mounted Floyd Rose. If there has to be a deciding factor, I think its modability. If you want to change the pickup you need to modify either the body or the pickup, because the body is routed to only fit the round screw tabs on Wolfgang pickups. And if you want to swap the neck or body you have to make sure its EVH compatible, because theyve got a Tele heel and different alignment. On a Charvel you can swap pickups, bodies and necks to make it however you want it to be. To me thats better value, having a guitar that can easily evolve with me. Then got my first MIM Charvel Pro Mod So Cal and immediately regretted having all of my MIA Strats, which I cant let go because of sentimental reasons but I dont play them anymore. Now I am up to three MIM Charvel Pro Mods - a So Cal, a San Dimas, and a DK24. I own three Fender MIA Strats - two American Standards and one EJ. I have a few Jacksons made in Indonesia that are also excellent. Is that your preferred set up with these I need those and a Floyd Rose on it and it has to be recessed in a rout for it because I like to snap the bar so it flutters. I find it to have perhaps a little too much midrange honkiness, but I can live with it. I dont know if that is due to the pickup or due to its direct mount on the body, The So Cal came with a pair of Duncan Distortions, which frankly I hated.
